Yes? No. And yes.

Interview time!
A fun part about interviewing candidates for community health service-learning positions is meeting the passionate people who are interested in the same things that interest me. Community health, justice, service, youth, education.
Today was a double dose of meeting amazing people–first interviewing grad student candidates for the University of Chicago Medicine’s Summer Service Partnership, then interviewing grad student candidates for the Chicago Health and Medicine Policy Research Group’s Schweitzer Fellows Program.
Today I was reminded of a lesson every applicant should keep in mind: you can be an amazing person, with impressive accomplishments, who would be great to work with–and still may not get the job, simply because more than one amazing, accomplished person applied. If you do not get the position, please do not take it personally, or as a comment on your less-than-amazingness. You are still amazing. I would still love to work with you. Please stay in touch.
